Sitara-e-Imtiaz for Four Decades of Service

Pakistan honors the man who made free blood transfusions a reality for thousands of families.

Muhammad Yaseen Khan receiving the Sitara-i-Imtiaz

In recognition of more than four decades of selfless service to children and patients suffering from Thalassemia, Hemophilia and other blood disorders, Founder & President of Sundas Foundation, Muhammad Yaseen Khan, was conferred the Sitara-i-Imtiaz— one of Pakistan's highest civil honors — by President Asif Ali Zardari.

The award celebrates a journey that began alongside Munnoo Bhai (Late) in 1998, when Sundas Foundation opened its first center in Lahore with a single promise: no patient would ever be charged for blood. Today that promise is kept at 12 centers across Pakistan, 24 hours a day.

The honor belongs equally to every donor who rolled up a sleeve, every volunteer who ran a camp, and every supporter whose Zakat and Sadaqah kept the transfusions flowing. Thank you for being part of this story.
